Black Lives Matter
Over the years, TFF has welcomed many talented BIPOC filmmakers at its annual festival. We have screened many films depicting the BIPOC experience. We recall LA Liquor by Jensen Vinca, which fearlessly displays the reality of race relations and police brutality in the US. As the Black Lives Matter movement endures around the world,
We admit the insufficiency of a simple statement to show our support. We need to do better and we will do better.
A special task force of TFF will work on various tasks and actions in contributing to the broader success of the BLM movement, and also increasing BIPOC presence at the 2021 festival and beyond. We believe in the power of cinema to affect changes at the personal and institutional level, and we intend to fully use our platform to do so.
